Treatment options in outpatient institutions

You can find outpatient psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic counseling, which is usually free of charge, in educational and family counseling centers, in student counseling centers, in outpatient clinics of psychiatric hospitals or in psychotherapeutic departments of hospitals as well as in alcohol and drug counseling centers. Please contact your counseling center to find out whether additional costs will be incurred and who may be eligible to cover the costs.

Unlike psychotherapies in psychotherapy practices, which are usually financed by health insurance companies (behavioral therapy, depth psychology-based psychotherapy and psychoanalytical psychotherapy), other psychotherapeutic methods can also be used in institutions (e.g. couples therapy, systemic family therapy, conversational psychotherapy, etc.).

In addition to psychological psychotherapists or child and adolescent psychotherapists, there are other professional groups working in counseling centers and institutions that can enrich a psychotherapeutic process, such as educational or socio-educational specialists.

Contact us

Use our Psych-Info online tracing service, our service telephone or our links to counseling facilities.

As a rule, a telephone call is sufficient to arrange an appointment.

The employees of the counseling centers are bound to absolute confidentiality. Psychotherapy and psychological counseling can also be provided anonymously at the request of those seeking advice, i.e. neither names nor addresses are recorded.

What all institutions have in common is that

  • quality assurance procedures are carried out,
  • all those working there are subject to professional supervision,
  • treatments are documented,
  • the internal processes and structures are disclosed to clients on request,
  • Psychological and child and adolescent psychotherapists are committed to the quality standards of their profession and must also justify their actions to the PtK in the event of a complaint.
